Neo Cons are now calling themselves Libertarians!
One of my stranger hobbies is blogging on message boards with right wingers. (Seriesly, they are so stupid it is fun.}

Anyway, yesterday three of them on three different boards got backed into a corner arguing about Republican economics and all three claimed
'Well I am not a Republican, I am a Libertarian.'

One of these numbnuts claims he is a fighter pilot in the Air Force and BRAGS about killing Iraqis. (He is an especially vile guy.) He claimed he has never been a Republican, and Reagan was the only Republican president he ever voted for (note they still worship at the altar of St Ronnie.) and he is a 'Conservative Libertarian'.

I am still laughing. I thought until now that neo cons are more evil than stupid. Now I guess I was wrong.

I too have fun trying to debate rightie on different message boards.. They are funny at times but their biggest claim today is that they are not republicans but rather conservatives..

Keep up the good fight..

3. I'm more selective in my use of the term 'neocon'
I reserve that term for PNAC signatories and their most closely-allied minions. The next tier, consisting of pundits and ersatz conservatives who supported Chimpolini's doctrine, I call 'neocon enablers.' Further down are the blue-dog democrats who lent credence to PNAC goals, whom I call 'neocon apologists.' At the end of this unsavory food chain are the rank-and-file idiots who voted for WhistleAss twice and comprise the 23% 'backwash' of residual support in the PNAC's War for Oil & Empire; I call these people 'idiots.'

7. Libertarian economics is the same as neo-con economics.
So in a way, they aren't too far off. That's one of my main problem with libertarians. I'm all for individual liberties, but most libertarians want the markets to run wild without any oversight whatsoever. No thanks.

11. Libertarians are most definitely anti war
There are a ton of Libertarians in the anti war groups. So for an avid war supporter to claim to be a Libertarian is pretty strange.

9.  I wouldn't be surprised if they were eventually overtaken by them.
I could envision the Repubs becoming the party of primarily the South with the Libertarians emerging everywhere else. The Repubs are so out of touch, they are running right for a cliff. They pretend otherwise, but for the past 40 years or so, the main motivation for the base Republicans has been race. These people are still dominating the party, but the rest of the country rejects them. That's why the true anti liberals will move elsewhere. I'm not saying this is certain, but I think it is a real possibility.

10. Ask Them: "As a Libertarian, Don't You Think We Should End Our Military Rule of Iraq?"
And allow them to write their own constitution, free of in-built protections of US industries?

17. "Independants" are basically worthless politico's anyway
They love to pontificate and bloviate about the sins of the two major parties, and yet, what exactly has any "independant" ever done?

They dont introduce leglislation that passes, they are not responsble for anything. They are political trolls, Nader's in green courderoy coats who fall in love with the sound of their own voices.

fuck em all ... they do nothing but bitch anyway

19. Ask them..
.. "so you are for the legalization of all drugs?".

See how libertarian they are. Most of them are only libertarians in the business/economics sphere, the only sphere in which I'm not a libertarian.

23. Watch out when they claim to have some special authority on some issue. They
do that to cow democrats by claiming to be an expert. I had one guy claiming to be just home from the war in Iraq..and I said..but what about the stop loss policy...it has been going on for months. He was like "oh I got injured".

Just don't assume they are specialists just because they claim to be.
