Frontier Communications scam |
|
We recieved our Frontier Communications bill yesterday. Our contract was renewed against our wishes, as we have been planning to change carriers for our landline and dsl service. My wife called to dispute this. She was able to prove that we had indeed declined to renew our contract back in November with Frontier. However, since the "auto-renewal" system had renewed our contract, we ARE able to cancel our renewal without the penalty; we DO howeover owe back the "customer loyalty credit" for the past one year. This totals almost 60% of the cancellation fee!
I'll contact the NY AG's offifce tommorrow to find out if this is legal. But I am astonished that this is now the new par for the course.

4. What are you talking about? |
|
Apparently they were given some sort of discount conditioned upon continued service, they didn't continue the service to discount was not earned and should be paid back.

We've been year over year customers of theirs for the past 4 years. So Frontier Communications has granted us a loyalty credit on each bill for the past few years. I do not feel that I should have to feel obligated to pay back any customer loyalty credits on fufilled past contracts.

6. Our monthly Frontier bill talks about that re-newal |
|
in teeny print. It says we have to call before expiration date of the contract if we do not want to renew. I had not heard of paying back any "credit' or cancellation fee. I will call them Monday and see what is what.
all this "contract" crap is financial indentured servitude. Maybe The Consumerist ( a great site, btw) will support a class action lawsuit.
