Weatherization Assistance for Low-Income Persons - JOBS BILL
The current Weatherization Assistance for Low-Income Persons enabling statute already includes assistance for the elderly, disabled, and low-income persons.
http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/uscode42/usc_sup_01_42_10_81_20_III_30_A.html

The stimulus bill - beginning on page 30 - includes these enhancements:

* expands the definition of low-income by raising the limit from 150 percent of poverty level to 200 percent;

* raises the per-dwelling assistance level from $2500 to $6500; and

* permits homes weatherized with assistance as recently as 1994 to become eligible again

To see if you or a loved one qualifies, see the Weatherization Program website (and bear in mind that they probably haven't updated the eligibility criteria yet to take into account the still-unsigned legislation). http://apps1.eere.energy.gov/weatherization/

Please cross-post anywhere you think others might benefit from this info.

2. That railroad from LA to Las Vegas is also about jobs.
Goopers just don't get it, and neither do low-info voters.

President Obama and the Dems should have called this bill "The JOBS Bill" and made the goopers vote against THAT!

4. I spoke to the director of the local weatherization program and she
was talking about the ability to make a real difference in people's heating costs. New roofs, new furnaces, things that will last after the money is gone.
