18. So I guess I am the only one picturing him falling and breaking his skull
...like a ripe mellon. His brains all over those gorgeous shoes.
Yup, I thought so.

4. Spectator pumps!!!!
For some of us, they never went out of style, just like saddle oxfords.

7. Around 1980,
someone in the US started making saddle oxfords again. I was so smitten, I bought a pair at Hahn's Shoe Store at 17th & K, NW, in Washington, DC.

Mine were black and white, but if they'd come in other colors, I'd have bought every color. Whenever I wore them, people just went nuts. There's something about those shoes that make people really happy.

14. Did you have Junior High graduation?
We did, at the end of eighth grade.

Man, we felt SO grown up! We got pretty dresses for the ceremony, and our parents came, and next year, we were in HIGH SCHOOL!!!

This "middle school" stuff just stinks of pretension, and I can't remember why it stopped being junior high - which made sense - and become so precious.

Liberal, we're old. But we're choice.....................

Looks more to be Korean War era than WWII.

I can give the google image thing a try, though! I forgot about being able to do that!

Edit to add: I didn't have any luck finding where the picture came from. Sorry.

15. Thanks for checking.
I did some looking around too and couldn't find a thing about this photo. It certainly is one of the better ones of its genre. :)
