China, Russia tell US No Military Action on North Korea, Iran
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070326/wl_nm/china_russia_hu_dc

uh oh..Putin and Jintao putting their feet down. Pretty bad whent hese two make Bush sound like a raving lunatic on foreign policy (which he is)

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Visiting Chinese President Hu Jintao and Russian leader Vladimir Putin called on Monday for peaceful solutions to the crises over Iran and North Korea's nuclear programs and pledged to stop an arms race in space.

The two leaders, who hope to counter Washington's clout by promoting internationally agreed solutions to world crises, said in a joint declaration that they shared a common position on big global issues.

"I would like to emphasize with satisfaction that the positions of Russia and China on all the issues discussed either coincide or are similar," Putin said.

Hu, on his third visit to Russia, described Putin as "my good friend" and spoke of the "warm atmosphere of trust" at their meeting, underlining the growing friendliness between the two erstwhile Communist rivals.

1. Here comes Armageddon!
Seriously, I'm not religious, but I remember in one of the books of the bible where it talked about the Great Battle between the Eagle, the Dragon & the Bear...

2. China is trying to become a world power
and spread their ideology to the third world. They need a peaceful world and international stability to mantain their growth..they are unlikely to intervene militarily but they have many other tools at their disposal. They could really make life hell for the US..

7. They can't, really.
They certainly have the power to completely destroy our economy by calling in our debt, but to do would just as certainly destroy their economy.

I owe the bank a hundred thousand dollars, that's problem for me. If I owe the bank a hundred billion dollars, that's a problem for the bank.

6. Bush wants to hit N Korea for other reasons
so far successful defiance of the US. He also wants to open up a free market there..imagine the cheap labor pool..and most of all we would have a colonial proxy right on China's border The US would love to have a puppet right on China's border. Oil i probably more important right now though.

8. China, Russia tell US No Military Action on Iraq

http://www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/meast/02/27/sprj.irq.china.russia/index.html

"In a statement issued Thursday in Beijing the foreign ministers of the two countries said they shared the belief that war 'can and should be avoided' adding that U.N. weapons inspectors should be given enough time to fully carry out their job.

"The communiqué issued by Russian Foreign Minister Ivan Ivanov and his Chinese counterpart, Tang Jiaxuan, said both sides supported the full implementation of U.N. Resolution 1441 -- which calls for weapons inspections in Iraq -- instead of adopting a new resolution, the position supported by the United States and Britain."
