6. Right wingnut Libertarians overlook the fact that we don't have

an open frontier for hunting and gathering any more. They fantasize exactly like the cartoon does! There is no possibility of starvation, or they don't want to believe that, so they think in terms of that they'll always just go hunting if things get that bad!

7. The thing is, most don't have the knowledge or stamina to "live off the land"

We as a society have lost that knowledge. I don't know which plants are safe to eat, or how to efficiently dress a deer, let alone a squirrel. Takes time and practice to learn these things, especially from others.
