McCain would have faced gridlock in Congress. No stimulus bill could have got through, nor could continued tax cuts. On the domestic front Sarah Palin would be out drumming up hatred and division. I doubt that any immigrant, papered or not, would be safe on the streets of America.

We were very lucky.

Hail to the Chief.

1. George W. Bush, the great 'Uniter.'
We couldn't have done it without him.

2. Nah. McCain would have tried to cut taxes, big time.
I'd like to think our Congressional Dems would have stopped him. They would have pushed stimuli. He would have vetoed. And so, you're right...no action would have been taken. But we would have been treated to a whole lot of wheel-spinning, invective-laden fuss. We were lucky because the American people woke up in time.
Elections have consequences, thank goodness.

3. You are so right about Sara Palin
She would have been the Republicans 'go to guy' for stirring up hatred.

Hate is what fuels the Republican Party. The Republicans love of hate, and their constantly using it as a tool to advance their agenda is one of the biggest reasons we need to eliminate the Republican Party.

We need to crush the Republicans and let a new political party grow from their ashes.
