I guess this isn't so much "funny" as it is "crazy". What would make anyone post such unalloyed drivel? I thought the right-wing-wacko pinko/Communist crap peaked with the McCarthy hearings in the 50s and ended forever with the demise of the Soviet Union in the 80s. I guess not.

Do we have any idea what elements of Obama's policies the wackos consider to be "Communist"? Is it the stimulus plan? Closing Guantanamo? Putting policy experts in charge of government functions instead of incompetent cronies? Admitting error? Telling the truth?

I doubt very much that this poster or any other FR fool could provide an accurate definition of "Communism".

I live at Lake Kiowa and the place is about 95% republican. If you remember that lady with the purple bandaid on her chin at the republican convention back in 2004, she was from here. She also went to Florida in 2000 and was part of the republican protest there. She is about as wacky as they come!

Without it, there's no Raygun, no "fiscal responsibility", no "defending the country"...all that's left is the truth...the GOOP is a corrupt party totally lacking in ideas or able to take responsibility for their actions.

It's amusing to watch the Freepers angst these days as just a few years ago it was their party that was on the verge of total government control and lost the confidence of the majority. It wasn't "communism" that did that, it was the proof, once and for all, that repugnicans can't govern and their rhetoric is nothing but hypocritical tripe.

So now they feel like the "lone patriots" out there cause the majority of this country not only rejects them but laughs at them now. And the more they play this charade, the further into the political abyss they go.

...and it's a scary one. One, I honestly don't like to think about, but it's one that is sure to manifest itself as it has in the past.

Despite the hard right this country took from 1994 until 2006, the extremists continued to gain strength and energize. We had the Matthew Hales and Turner Diary advocates out there operating way under the radar. Just tune around hate radio and its just below the surface...or on the right wing websites. There's a culture of repression and hate and being locked out of power will only embolden that feeling.

We've also seen the rise of extremism in tough times...and those times are at hand. People losing hope will turn to the extremes as they feel the "system" has failed them. And all they have to do is turn on their AM radio and they'll hear the pied pipers of extremism. We must remain vigilent, but not let it hamper the changes we know are needed in this country.
