Hey Norm Coleman, show some class & concede the election already
The election was over 2 months ago, the votes have been counted, recounted, & recounted again.....Norm you LOST!...

If he had any shred of credibility (and class) left, he would end this dog & phony show already.....

Hell hath no fury like a Republican who loses an election scorned....

2. I know you're joshing us.
I can't even imagine a sentence with the word 'class' and Coleman in it, nevermind him actually exhibiting some. He's indirectly doing the GOP's bidding by staying in, and I'm sure will be rewarded somehow.

5. No, he's just being norm with us.
"norm" = slang for "normal". I'm just glad his name is "Norm" because that describes his actions to a T. "Normal for him".

4. The last Republican in the Senate to show some class was Jim Jeffords
It looks like it will be quite some time before it happens again.

7. Chiclet Teeth is going to drag it out as long as possible.
Granted, he's running flat out of legal options, and the ones he has left are ridiculous longshots, but as long as the rest of the Rethugs want to delay Al Franken's swearing-in, he's gonna keep at it.

Can't Al get the court to order the state to certify him as provisional Senator and get him sworn in while the court battles continue?

8. It's not just Coleman--the whole Rethug party is throwing a wrench in the works to
keep Franken from his seat as long as possible. Makes each vote that much tougher to pass. The Rethugs know Franken won, but they luurve being obstructionists.

10. At some point, though, isn't there a legal equivalent to ENOUGH!!!
Aggravating as it has been, both Coleman and Franken have used their legal rights to contest, demand votes be counted, etc.

But after two months, isn't there some kind of end to this?

Isn't there something in the law that says ENOUGH?

(Yeah, probably not but just thought I'd throw it out there anyway.)

14. Slightly off topic, but Minnesota needs to change its state law
The idea that as long as a sore loser can keep a court case alive, and the seating of an election winner is held up, simply gives license to the likes of Norm Coleman to string things along for the maximum time possible. Minnesota should amend its election laws to allow provisional seating once the Board of Elections certifies a winner so that the people aren't deprived of representation while these things drag on and on. As it stands right now, Minnesota has only half its allotted Senators serving the state, and that will continue as long as Coleman is allowed to think up new delaying tactics.

There's no penalty and no downside for Coleman to keep flinging shit at the wall, hoping against hope that something sticks somewhere. He's already covered in shit himself, so soiling other people doesn't make a damn bit of difference to him.

15. The republicans are doing all they can to keep the Democrats from having that senate seat for
Edited on Mon Feb-16-09 04:17 PM by LaPera
as long as possible....Coleman & the republicans know Franken will eventually take the seat, but republicans see it to their advantage (with no down side) to keep the seat away from the Dems for as long as possible (one less Dem vote.)

And then, who knows, maybe the republicans will have a miracle and be able to steal the seat with enough time....So expect the republicans to keep on throwing out as much slimy bullshit as possible to see what, or if anything sticks...

That's the republicans Modus Operandi - Always has been!

You can ask and he'll keep right on humping.
