Rove re: Leahy's Truth Commission:"a political witch-hunt and that this was, you know, sort of 1930"

<snip>

ROVE: Well, again though, he is talking about an outside group to do this. But it would be a — if he were to do it, either inside the Senate or as an outside group. It would be obvious that this was a political witch-hunt and that this was, you know, sort of 1930…

O'REILLY: But NBC News would like it. They didn't give it a lot of coverage.

ROVE: Well, maybe so. But you know, America is still the United States of America. We're not some little dinky country in Central America run by colonels in mirrored sunglasses where this kind of thing where you take where the incoming regime goes and witch-hunt for the people for the previous regime. If we ever get that way, then we will have lost the greatness that is America. But that's — look, I don't take this as serious…

O'REILLY: OK, all right.

ROVE: This is just another example of Leahy going out there, opining in a way to draw attention to him. And you know, this is just — this is just…

O'REILLY: So we should all tell him to "F-off," I guess, in another way, in a kinder, gentler way. Not exactly…

ROVE: In a kinder, gentler way.

O'REILLY: OK.

ROVE: We should be wryly amused at his latest endeavor.

2. I am so confused...
I thought we just finished eight years of "colonels in mirrored sunglasses"? Don't they know no one watches Faux News anymore? Who do they think is listening to their rants?

5. I agree...
Sometimes I think Faux News is just doing a parody of itself. They know they're going down, but insist on keeping the facade up. It's like a bad lounge act that keeps going on the Titanic.

Maybe it's cathartic for them?

10. Cathartic as in talking in an echo chamber
located in a hall of mirrors. They have nothing to say really. Whining empty suits. Pull the plug already.

3. How does it feel for this felon to be laughing at our Congress and our people?
Rove is wrong. This is exactly how it happens in those "little dinky" countries. The oligarchs laugh at you publicly.

4. "1930"?
I prefer to think of it as so 1940's, and more of a "bringing-murdering-thieving-war-criminals-to-justice" kind of thing.

9. It's a good thing the Republics won the last round of elections...
I was getting tired of "All Democrats, All the Time" on the news shows. :sarcasm:
