WHY IS NPR AIRING RUSH LIMPBALLS!
Judy Rovner just did a stimulus story and featured a clip of Rush boy ragging on some imaginary government involvment in health care decisions.

From the story:

Even Rush Limbaugh has joined the chorus, devoting time on his radio show earlier this week to the issue — and to a discussion of another part of the bill related to the office overseeing the transition to electronic medical records.

"The national coordinator of health information technology will monitor treatments that your doctor gives you to make sure your doctor is doing what the federal government deems appropriate and cost-effective," Limbaugh told his millions of listeners.

Limbaugh — and other conservative critics — haven't mentioned that there has been a national coordinator for health information technology since 2004, when the office was created by President George W. Bush.

Airing this crap just legitimizes Rush boy and his fantasies - I am conflicted just copying it and pasting it here.

NPR is fucking up big time. They keep sliding farther and farther to the right.

2. He is the de facto GOP leader
The more they play his rantings, the better off Democrats will be.

He's a four act side show in one pair of pants.

Maybe he'll Jonestown himself.

4. I may be missing something here, but it seems to me..
that the byte was played to point out that rush was telling a half truth about the position;

Limbaugh — and other conservative critics — haven't mentioned that there has been a national coordinator for health information technology since 2004, when the office was created by President George W. Bush.

6. That's only because Rush is incapable of telling a whole truth.

The point is that NPR is featuring this ass-hat in a drive time slot.

And there are those who will not see this as a half truth - they will only hear that the government is sticking their nose in your business.

8. Because they're pointing out that he's wrong?

They're doing something kind of old-fashioned here: Actually injecting facts into a discussion to show that the overblown hyperbole of one side is bullshit. This is quaint and a little confusing to me, but I welcome the return of the use of actual facts into our national discussions. It certainly beats the "one side says A while the other side says B" reporting that glosses over the fact that B is demonstrably false.

11. They did not point that out. Nor did they take issue with his point beyond
pointing out that the office has existed for years.

The thrust of the exchange was clearly to demonize governments role in health care.

The larger point is, that unless NPR is going to clearly point out the hypocrisy and fallacies of these kinds of people and their arguments, then I DO NOT want Rush and his ilk given air time on the taxpayers dime.

NPR is giving hideous evil pigs like Rush air on the taxpayers dime.

12. NPR has somehow become convinced that if they only suck enough Republicans off...
...that Republicans will start respecting them and treating them nicely.

Think it'll happen?

Meanwhile, they treat the left (the people who actually give/gave money
to NPR) like shit and expect that we'll still support them.

Think it'll happen?

Tesha
