The same-sex marriage wars, though largely absent from the presidential campaign, remain hot in the states, as this new video from the group wv4marriage.com shows.

The narrator warns that same-sex marriage in West Virginia is "a closer reality than you may think" and that gay activists are "working tirelessly to redefine marriage away from God's design to favor the desires of adults over the needs of children."

The ad, which targets Christian voters, calls for a constitutional amendment against same-sex marriage, something that's already in place in a majority of states. "A weekend trip to SF for a WV same-sex couple, plus a pro-bono ACLU attorney, could easily become a nightmare for marriage in West Virginia," says the narrator.

The liberal local site West Virginia Blue is particularly struck by the implication that "the gay agenda is apparently out to get us all in the form of a sniper scope targeting happy families who sit on their steps and entertain their children by blowing bubbles (seriously - it's at the one minute mark)."

Via WVBlue, I see that some out-of-state goober has decided the strategery for WV's Republican party in the 2010 election cycle is....*sound of trumpets*...SCARY GAY PEOPLE!

Complete with an offensive video (YouTube) that includes a gay sniper about to shoot at a family blowing bubbles. I kid you not. The sniper scope view aimed at the heterosexual family shows up at :58.

Why target WV? Because they think we are too stupid to think for ourselves. We've had to deal with this level of GOP dumbassery before:
