It was pretty intersting, but nothing that those of us on DU didn't already know.

3. Some were definitely racist
But I just found it odd how they were all so sure those of us who voted for Obama were absolute idiots who don't understand anything (when we think the same of them - yet Bush PROVED they are idiots).

But mostly I kinda felt sorry for the stupidity that religion has foisted on them. Grown men crying - over what they thought would happen to America - and obviously unaware that Bush had already destroyed it.

4. I really want to ask a few of them if Obama has taken away their guns yet.
He hasn't taken away mine (1), and I'm pretty sure ammunition prices are the same.

5. The best part was the lady at the soup kitchen
trying to get these people to vote for McCain - and their responses. And she wondered if she was allowed to say "lesbians" on camera.

7. "Lesbians. Can I say that?"
She actually hesitated before she said it!

6. Very disturbing.
They all use the same talking points - not just the ideas, but the actual words. There's no independent thought. They don't question what they hear or what they've been told.

The mixture of God and patriotism bothered me. As far as they're concerned, you can't possibly love your country if you don't love their God. I have no doubt that many of them would love to use Taliban-style tactics to force all of us into their religion. They don't seem to understand the difference between democracy and theocracy. They think "freedom of religion" means the entire country is free to be Christian ... and nothing else.

The USA chants and the way they "worship" the American flag was a bit creepy. I didn't feel like I was witnessing a display of heartfelt patriotism; it was more like blind allegiance. It was nationalism.

Those who complained about the state of the economy, the direction of the country and/or the way "you can't do anything anymore" amused the hell out of me. Do they not realize that the GOP has been running the country for the last eight years?

Things that made me laugh ...

The guy who misspelled "socialism" on his T-shirt ... and then had a hard time explaining what it was.

The guy who thinks Obama is a socialist, but then got angry and teary-eyed when he said, "You ask the government for help and they say, 'Fuck you'".

The responses to the lady in the soup kitchen.

The woman in the audience at a McCain rally who was dressed like Palin (and carrying a baby doll).

The African-American man who seemed to be defending Mississippi racism! (That was a total WTF moment for me, LOL!)
