In an interview with U.S. News & World Report, conservative Christian leader Pat Robertson denounced talk show host Rush Limbaugh for saying he wants President Obama to fail.

"So you don't subscribe to Rush Limbaugh's "I hope he fails" school of thought?" asked interviewer Dan Gilgoff.

"That was a terrible thing to say," Robertson responded. "I mean, he's the president of all the country. If he succeeds, the country succeeds. And if he doesn't, it hurts us all. Anybody who would pull against our president is not exactly thinking rationally."

My guess...Pat finally realized we're all in this mess together!

He's probably just trying to grab the first lifeboat. Because of his past performance, I suspect he's trying to keep those who disagree with him off the boat. Obviously his will to live is strong.

But...Pat, what about the rest of us who you threw under the bus over the years? Do we count yet?

Don't be fooled by this clown...let the boat leave without him on board!

12. The New Triangulation...

Hate radio has become the methadone for the flying monkeys. They don't have the power and have marginalized themselves but when they turn on a Rushbo, the world becomes a different place. The ghost of Raygun catches hold and the hate and lies not only "make sense" but become like a comfort food...a fix for a junkie in need of "rationalizing" their phobias and anger. In a party void of any real ideas, the Rushbo red meat is one of the few things that keep these losers going these days...and it also is showing the void and rifts as well.

The fundies have never been big Rushbo fans...they have their own radio. It's rabid, but in a more temporal way. It's bigotry and intolerance with a smile rather than a snarl. This is what made Robertson a TV star...he seemed like a nice guy...and then he gotcha. Rushbo has always been a threat to the power and influence of the religious right and they see his rhetoric now driving a wedge in their own coaltion. The large number of self-avowed fundamentalists who voted for President Obama may not get any notice by Rushbo, but they sure do by Robertson, Warren and other big money fundies...even Dobson has kept his powder realitively dry.

Now let's see if Rushbo dares to go after Rev. Pat...a man whose influence is just as strong as Rushbo's...not some lowely congresscritter. I don't think he dares to pick a fight with the fundies.
