President Obama keeps saying to 'move forward'. Can people please stop being so depressed? |
|
It's contagious. Like syphilis. Been there done that anyway. Not syphilis, depression.
Leave the media to say what it wants. That's how they make their money. That's all they care about.

Aside from the fact that some very kind souls here at DU gave me some hearts I can't think of a good reason not to be depressed. I'm well educated, long term unemployed, late 40s with something resembling non-existent health care, getting no direct benefit from the stimulus package and over recent months have seen my savings depleted by nearly 20% thanks to the market implosion. So far as I can tell the light at the end of the tunnel is the train that will finally kill me.

The way I see it I am now 60. There is nothing to re-train for and I am un-employed and on disability.
Whatever comes from this stimulus package will not help me and I have to face the reality that this is all for those people who are young and their children. My days are over other than to hope my wife and I can keep going with little we have.
I have no control over this enormous freight train of horror we are now faced with. I am just glad we don't have children to try to support . In reality with all the young people who are far more advanced than I it this new high tech driven society which is part of every job now who are out there looking for a job no one is going to pick a 60 year old guy.
I'm glad I made it to this point but I'm sick of the internal worry that never seems to go away.
