I went in a sporting goods store in Dallas today |
|
Needed some softball stuff for my granddaughter. I kept hearing this "weird" noise. I was standing in line and tracked it down. The "greeter" was at the front of the store--vomiting into a bag. WTF? The only thing that kept me complaining was the fact that I was afraid she would lose her job--I mean, who does that? Seriously? Other than someone that needs their job. Desperately.

2. Gives a whole new picture to the term greeter |
|
In the dark ages they might be the carrier of bubonic plague or something. Said that someone would have to stay on the job when they are that ill. Perhaps we are entering a neo- Dark Ages.

5. Did you see a whore there? |
|
Seriously though, if you're puking, you shouldn't be at work, and you definitely shouldn't be greeting people.

that someone might be desperate to keep a job, there are so many things wrong with going to work and vomiting in front of the customers at the work place that I don't know where to begin. And if any kind of supervisor saw her, she probably lost her job anyway. Yes, there's something seriously wrong with this country that we don't have guaranteed sick time for everyone, but there's something at least as wrong with going to work that sick and possibly getting others sick also.

9. She may be on the brink of financial catastrophe and |
|
has no choice but to show up. I hope she didn't get fired for throwing up,sent home I could see, firing her for it would just be cruel.

13. I would hope she wouldn't get fired, |

but quite frankly anyone inconsiderate enough to come to work that sick and willing to infect who knows how many people just by being there, well I suppose to say she deserves to be fired is cruel on my part, but I don't know what else to say. At the very least she should be at home. I do hope she was sent home. I'm sorry if she lost money because of that, but I can't begin to imagine how repulsed I'd be if the greeter was vomiting as she was greeting me.

12. A "greeter" at a sporting goods store? |
|
I can't stand people "greeting" me when I walk into a store. I pretty much know what I want when I get there.
It seems to me like greeters are there for PR, sort of a public representative of the company.
And if one of them is so ill that they're puking in public, it sort of undoes the "comfort zone" they're trying to establish.
I'm surprised the cashiers didn't alert the store manager. I'd stop shopping there.
