My five things to help my country and my president during these hard times.
1. Trying as much as possible to not use credit/get out of debt.
2. Going as green as I can be in my personal life.
3. Buying American products whenever possible.
4. Patronizing local small businesses.
5. Continuing to send my few dollars and devoting my time to elect progressive Democrats.

What ideas do you have to help turn the country around?

3. Good idea, but I think of that as a given
and I am sure that you do too in good times and bad.

11. Followed your link to the Daily Kos..
Wish I could have faith in this quote speaking about the turnover of power in the 2008 election: "It will take decades - maybe even generations - for the Republicans to recover from that. Political tsunamis like this don't come along very often - and we are about to have two, back to back." They (the repubs)seem to have the American ear still in a way that is all out of proportion to their power. This is what motivates me to do my part, no matter how little, to reverse the evils done by the bush administration to my country.

6. Well that is certainly fun and educational but I am not quite sure
how it helps our economy.

7. You are to be commended for thinking of ways to help the country.
Most of us are still basking in the glow of Obama's election...kicking the GOP out of WH, Senate, House were huge accomplishments.

8. I so love that too. Watching Obama repeat now on cspan
telling us what the bill he made passed will do for our country. I take his message and my duty from him.

9. Those are basically good ideas, but

I would suggest it would be just as supportive--on number 1--if you have a rational need for credit and the responsible means, that it is okay to do so.

edited to add: It is a commendable list. Kudos

10. Well to be up front and honest, I have no debt except for
using my credit card which I try to pay totally on a monthly basis. I see the use of credit as a very necessary part of business and in many cases of getting by for food and other necessities. Personally, I was thinking more of buying and using credit for "stuff". Today I used my credit card for groceries and some "stuff'. That "stuff" is what I want to try to decrease.

15. Riding my bike to the grocery store today. My free time goes to
the local Dems. (Probably not what you meant). Maybe we will talk about your last suggestion at our next meeting on the 21th.

16. I attended a HP on Health Care and it was very good.
We met new people and talked about the issues. It was worth the time. I hope that Obama and his peeps actually take the reports to heart when looking at the issue. I hear you on volunteering with the Dems. Our Dem group actually does some community work to keep themselves in the picture! funny to see people raking the seniors yards with Obama shirts on! Peace, Kim

17. We are a very small group in a very repub county.
The county voted 70% for McCain. There is an ingrained racism that is scary. But we keep on working. Thanks for your input.
