Political Texas hold’em
I love politics but man this is a BIG LEAUGE, power play. Several Republican Governors are stating that they will not take any Fed money from the bailout?!? Oddly this is a group who all look to be presidential players in 2012. Jindal (LA), Perry (TX), and Sanford(SC) are all betting their political futures on the failure of the stimulus package. Let’s say they are correct, the package fails they get to say we were right they were wrong the only harm is that they didn’t get some pet money from the fed. Now what if they are wrong, they have all but thrown away any claim to the correction and will lose the offices they have. Sack of onions I tell ya!

2. They don't have much of a say really.
The Mark Sanford amendment was inserted by Jim Clyburn (SC - R). It states that state legislatures can formally request bailout money if a governor declines to do so.

4. True
But they will fight it tooth and nail, this has become the last real hope for the republican party. Look at the vote for the bill the Repubs are going all in for failure and to be honest I don't think they have a clue! the market rebounds in 18 months (my belief) they will be the next lost party! Hello Wigs part 2

3. This shit only works with die-hard GOPer voters, though. Clearly these dipshits
are hoping that their professed reluctance to take the money will help them stand out in 2012, which is why they're all suddenly trying to outdo each other with the "I refuse the stimulus" act--but it will only matter in the GOP primaries.

5. the reality is this, moron helmet hair is worthless. his word hold about as much water as
a sieve.

the LT Governor of Texas has more power and frankly, the Legislature trumps them both.

He can whine all he wants but he ain't going to effect shit.

this is nothing more that the blowhard trying to make people believe his a tornado when he's nothing but a fart in the wind.

The Texas house, although repuke controlled, knows how their bread is buttered, will accept the money and tell helmet hair to go fuck himself.
