MZM contract with WH has been removed from the Fed database?
From War and Piece:

Guess what, Congressional investigators? MZM's contract with the White House appears to have been removed from the Federal Procurement database. Indeed, its '03 and '04 contracts appear to have been removed from the database as well. Indeed, the FPDS help desk has been helping me, and they can't find any of these contracts either. Apparently the relevant agency can remove the contracts from the system. Fortunately I've saved them here somewhere in the past but was looking for them fresh.

2. I was looking at the database that fedspending.org has and it shows

the contract as being the 7th, because there were 6 previous ones for MZM Environmental, which show its parent company as MZM. The $140K contract was requested by "1100: Executive Office of the President" and was to MZM, Inc. in Washington. The product code was D 302: ADP Systems development services, and the NAICS was 541511: Custom computer programming services.

It doesn't say anything about furniture.

5. I know, MZM Inc. doesn't even sell furniture, or at least didn't...
I think the story about Cheney getting furniture must have been wrong.

Let me try again.

I have an account on the actual federal contracting database, so I'll be able to tell definitively whether or not the contracts have poofed.

4. I just checked the contract from 2002, and it's still in the database.

So I don't know what this is about.

I wonder if people could have been tripped up, because the data in the contract is not what was reported in the widely circulated LA Times story about this. In the story it said that the Office of the Vice President contracted with MZM, while in the database entry it says it was only the Executive Office of the President. Now, to be fair the OVP is a subordinate office in the EOP, but it doesn't say that in the contract.

7. I just sent an e-mail about that.
Hopefully, I'm not the only one who can find it.

8. You know what's interesting, however?
The contract information was edited on 07/30/2005 at 14:44:25 hours.

Now that's pretty fucking interesting. I wonder why a contract database entry was modified years after it was entered into the system?

10. Loyal Bushie DoJ Assistant AG Alice S. Fisher is Chair of the National
Procurement Fraud Task Force/NPFTF. She should know something about that, it's her responsibility.

Yet she is a loyal Bushie, as many have remarked upon. The Decider decided to appoint her to serve at his pleasure and she was put in charge of the DoJ's Jack Abramoff investigation despite criticisms and concerns.

11. This story has been retracted.
It seems there was a glitch in the system, but the very people who run the system actually called the blogger and helped them find it.

It might have been an attempt to remove it from the system, but it did not succeed.
