lots of hair to shed! Its not the amount of hair thats relevant; its the dander thats under the hair/on the 'scalp,' I think, so I'm as allergic to my neighbor's boxer as to a Golden.

I obviously have no idea how the decision was made, but I do know, as 'formerly' allergic, that its possible to control the extent of one's allergic reaction.

First of all, they would get a great dog. Pits were, for years and decades, recommended by the AKC as the best family dog out there. Second, such a move would help rehabilitate the pit's reputation. If people could see pits for the big, lovable dogs that they are, then they might be more willing to go after the bad owners of the breed rather than condemning the dog.
