African-American ministers kick off effort to recall Republican Congressman Anh 'Joseph' Cao |
|
They're not happy that he voted against the stimulus. Lots of hateful RW comments below the story. http://www.nola.com/news/index.ssf/2009/02/africanamerican_ministers_kick.html

1. While I appreciate the Ministers efforts |
|
I suggest the Dems get behind a candidate and get the seat back in 2010. That will most likely happen anyway. Between Cao and vitter, Louisiana politics should be more of a three ring cicus then usual in the next election cycle.

2. Waste of time. Only way to remove a sitting congressman is resignation, expulsion, or death. |
|
States have no authority over the terms of federal officeholders, and the Constitution offers no recall provision.

3. Is that the guy that beat Jefferson? |

well to be honest you'll have to blame the democrats for not trying to get a better candidate than a corrupt one. Unfortunately we'll probably have to wait until 2010 and this guy will go bye-bye since the district is strongly democratic provided that the democrat in question isn't a corrupt one.

4. About time there were recall efforts for obstructionist Congresspeople. |
|
And in California, even though a budget passed, there should be work on recalling some of the naysayers.
