Any good survival books?

Can anyone recommend any good survival/preparation books should the economy completely collapse? I am assuming martial law will be declared in city areas so I am not too interested in books that say to load up on ammo to protect your self from your fellow citizen.

However, any good books that make recommendations for how much extra food to store, what kind, other needed items, etc?

1. How about the Zombie Survival Guide.

It's pretty much for a fictional collapse of society...like the one you're envisioning.

2. US Army Survival Manual

There's a lot of good stuff in there.

3. I'd imagine you could find some of the Y2K survival guides in dollar bins.

4. The Fox Fire series from the Seventies had useful information on how to

live off the land. Water purification, trapping game, cleaning and preparing it, recognizing poisonous plants, etc.

5. The Foxfire Books

Especially the first three. Things like gardening, hunting, canning, preserving without refrigeration, wild plant foods, log cabin building, even making moonshine--the way it was all done over a hundred years ago up in the hills.

6. When I was younger, it was 'The Whole Earth Catalogue'.

14. If there's martial law, then you won't have to worry.

You'll get your rations or be escorted to your work center and so forth. Now if you try to escape, then you'll need that survival guide.

Skills is by far one of the best i have ever seen. It touches on EVERYTHING.
