For any society to make the standard of living better (not just GDP, GNP and other such BS) this is essential

Instead, those of them who get health care for their members and their retirees get vilified for having done that.
Health Care is THE BIG ISSUE with respect to high labor costs. Take it out of the equation and the unions will do nothing less popular than protecting their members from unscrupulous managers.

we have to get out of these free trade agreements. they have decimated our unions. and decimating our unions decimated our economy.
