1. I love how he grunts and groans.
But his impressions of Rupert Murdoch, Sean "The Manatee" and Steve Doocy (who he makes sound like Bullwinkle) are just as funny. Oh, and Laura Ingraham! He used to date her so I expect there's extra animosity behind his imitation of her whiny, annoying voice.

10. I'll tell you why:

They do shit that no one with any self-respect would ever do,
and they've done that shit so often that they do it VERY WELL.

And that can be fun for awhile, until your conscience catches up with you
and makes you fell very SAD for them.

That's why.

I mean, that's what I've heard...:eyes:

2. I dunno - I think it lacks the panache, brio and elan of his Billo impression
IIRC, he based the Orally impression on the Ted Baxter character from the old Mary Tyler Moore show.

5. Actually, I think my favorite is his Dick Cheney.
He screws up his entire face to do it. It looks hilarious when they show him doing it on camera.

17. I like his Rudy Julie-Annie imitation...
He uses that sputtering, Sylvester the Cat, lisp. It's a bit insulting to that fine cat, but it's hilarious, nonetheless.

3. LOL That reminds me...
Way back when Rush first started his TV show, I channel-surfed across him. It was the first time I'd ever seen or heard him. I had no idea who he was. But the funny part is... when I chanced across his TV show, I listened for a minute wondering who he was, and then -- because of his aggressive, car-salesman-y, bloviating demeanor -- I decided I was watching a skit on a Saturday Night Live rerun, a sketch poking fun at conservatives by having a comedian portray an unrealistic, hyper-conservative, over-the-top blowhard. I was utterly dumbfounded when he cut to commercial, and the SNL band and audience didn't appear. I could hardly believe that he was for real.

:wtf:

6. Your experience reminds me of a time when I came across Nancy Grace on a hotel room TV.
Normally I watch Keith and try to avoid Nancy at all costs, but this hotel didn't get MSNBC, so I was looking for something else to watch at 8 p.m. When I first came across Nancy, I thought "There's no way this is really her show. This is someone imitating her on an old SNL rerun. It's too broad--her eyes are too exaggeratedly wide, her nostrils are too flared, it's a complete lampoon of her."

Imagine my horror to discover it was the real thing.

8. That's funny
 Especially when they end up being a lampoon of themselves. Maybe they really are just comedians!

Most of those people look like they were on the cast of "Deliverance" and they threw a sport coat on them to make them look somewhat civilized.
