Geronimo's kin sue Skull and Bones
HARTFORD, Connecticut - Geronimo's descendants have sued Skull and Bones — the secret society at Yale University linked to presidents and other powerful figures — claiming that its members stole the remains of the legendary Apache leader decades ago and have kept them ever since.

The federal lawsuit filed in Washington on Tuesday — the 100th anniversary of Geronimo's death — also names the university and the federal government.

1. Since the AP story was last night this has already been posted here several times.
But fear not, it will undoubtedly appear here again tomorrow. Somewhere along the line "news" becomes "olds".

5. Right, but stories move pretty fast here and something even a day old is old.
One reason I would never even try to post a Latest Breaking News story is because there are people here who seem like they live to do that so if you don't get it in the first minute after its happened, 6 people will already have it posted. Then an hour later when its off the front page somebody else will post it as Latest Breaking News. I still bet I will see this story posted here again tomorrow. I know I can depend on DU for that.

7. They didn't hunt or work. There only job was to steal from other
tribes. They were pretty professional killers. All of the other tribes adored them.

8. I would not want my ancestor's graves desecrated.
I would take offense if their remains were stolen, and kept as trophies by a bunch of boozy frat boys who dishonored them with their bullshit ceremonies.

I would want their remains honorably returned too. That includes my klansman and horse-thief ancestors too. Disrespect for the dead (and by this I mean the desecration of graves and burial places, dismemberment of corpses for the purposes of vandalism, etc.) is a sign of the breakdown of civilization, it is not something to celebrate, or protect.

4. I'd rather see them stick arrows in skull and bones.
The simpering little rich pricks ruined my country.
