Dammit! Look at this schedule for the House Judiciary Committee:
http://judiciary.house.gov/hearings/calendar.html

There is NOTHING scheduled for Monday, February 23. Didn't Conyers issue a subpoena for Rove to testify on Monday, February 23?? Yes, he did.

So, why isn't the meeting where that testimony is supposed to be taken NOT ON THE FUCKING CALENDAR??

Did Conyers ever intend for this meeting to happen?

1. He's too busy composing his next Very Sternly Worded Letter to attend to such details.

2. There's not even a link on the page to the subpoena. Just one
for February 2...not the one he issued afterward.

Unreal.

3. I believe Rove is supposed to appear for a deposition, not a hearing

5. Yep, you're right. I just talked to his aide from the Judiciary Committee...
IF Rove appears, it won't be in public. And, I still bet that Conyers will let him off the hook.

6. I know they asked for it. Conyers hasn't granted it, YET.
Conyers, IMO, has forgotten that the legislative branch is equal to the executive branch.

7. What would Obama or the Department of Justice have to do with a Congressional Hearing?

What with separation of powers and all that you'd think they would operate independently, wouldn't you?

8. yes, one would think they are independent
the executive privilege assertions of Rove are what concern the Obama admin and why they are trying a resolution.
