1. I used to get calls on behalf of a bank I never did business with
I think the collecter took my name from the phonebook. They quit when I threatened to refer them to the Federal Consumer Protection Agency.

2. Thanks for your reply...
I do have an Orchard Bank card; however, I will NOT deal with anyone outside the states, period, end of story!

20. Go on line to do your business...
I have been with Orchard for over five years. They extended credit after we were bankrupt. We now have a steller credit rating and are refinancing them out of our lives...

4. States outsourced welfare processing to India
At least 5 years ago. Seems kind of clear that couldn't go on forever, doesn't it?

23. Wow. Outsourcing WELFARE-processing jobs?
If you need a simple, capsule definition of "short-sighted" or inability to comprehend simple cause-and-effect, you can't beat that image.

9. CitiBank sold our mortgage, and since I pay early, I paid February's payment on Jan 28
I got a letter from the new people on Feb 4, stating that Citi would no longer accept payments after FEB 11th.

Then two days ago a phone robot from the new place reminded me that they had not received feb's payment..

The check cleared my bank on Feb 1..

This will be fun:puke:

12. I bet you don't have a sub-prime either
and I bet Citi bundled your mortgage and inflated the value of the security when it was sold, just like they did with the rest of the bundled mortgages.

That's why I don't think this is the fault of anybody who has a mortgages.

The financiers did this, 100%.

And yes it will be fun, so be sure and give us the blow by blow. I know you will smack 'em down!

24. Our mortgage has been sold twice in the past 6 years
...and what you are describing happened to us. The new mortgage company considered our early payment a payment on the principle and not an early payment on the monthly bill.

Both times our mortgage has been sold we have spent untold hours on the phone with the new company getting them squared away. Hang in there.

I am off to bed. Thanks to all of you who responded. I am struggling, like so many of us, with my mortgage and car payment, and pray tomorrow's tips meet my budget.

God/dess bless you all

15. Of course Egypt - they have all ready outsourced China & India - Cheapest worker talks!
It isn't going to get any better unless we start to go to a local bank I think. We have a local bank and if they decide to outsource to Egypt we will look for another one that doesn't!

17. Pay the bill and try to go to a Credit Union
Fuck these banks. We have to put them out of business. Yea that's harsh but you know what they don't give a damn about anything but the bottom line and nickel and diming customers. That's all...

21. That's why they hire 3rd world people as collection agents
Because $15 represents a whole day's pay for them, if they're lucky.

And I'm sure a few of them get joy out of harassing all the "rich Americans".
