Why does President Obama say that he will not run for office in 2012 if he fails |
|
(re: the economy)?
That's like me saying "I'm allergic to sex with women" and then being chatted up by lots of voluptuous hot brunette or sandy blonde women *nudge* *nudge* *wink* *wink*.
In short, you know somebody will hear what he's saying and try to use it against him.

1. he's trying to impress on people that he's serious about what he's trying to do |
|
and the he will not hold back, "just to get re-elected"..
Super-cautious presidents often pull their punches because they fear election retribution.. He knows what has to be done, and he's willing to put it all on the line to fix things.. It;s an admirable thing:)

2. Did he say that? I thought he said that people would vote him out in 2012 if he failed. |
|
And the AP or whatever MSM source it was rewrote it as "he said he won't run for office".

8. That's what I thought I'd heard. |
|
Obama said that if his efforts fail, he wouldn't get reelected.

3. He's going after the "term limits" lovers on the right perhaps ... |
|
Showing he understands he's a "public servant" and not a politician, and if he doesn't feel he can be effective, he'll withdraw. It's a noble statement to make ... but, as an admittedly partisan Dem, I hope it doesn't come back to bite him!

5. I'd say it's because he does not intend to fail |
|
It's up to Congress to help him sink or swim on the economic front.

6. He never said he wouldn't run. He is implying that he wouldn't win if it fails. |
|

He isn't planning on failing.

7. He did not say he wouldn't run |
|
he implied he would be defeated if his plans fail. There is a big difference.
