All of us-ALL!
Are fucking lucky!...If we are sitting at a computer able to post and relax for a little while, we are doing much, much better than those that have become homeless recently. I know-DUH!...but everyday we should count our blessings, truly!

2. Believe it, I do!

I survived two mass layoffs (the person whose job I took after she moved to another department was laid off in the first round). My car is paid off, and it is a very good car with great gas mileage. I rent right now, but am looking to buy a house, but the fact is, all my life I've struggled and since I moved to Washington, I've found a job that paid double what I made in Utah, and the cost of living, though high, is really not that much higher. I'm also used to not spending very much money on myself, so I'm pretty much living like I was when I was broke for most of my life, and for the first time in my life, I can help people who have always been there for me. That's what I'm most thankful for. Being able to actually donate or pay for a meal when I go out with friends and family, or help friends and family in need. It's a wonderful feeling for someone who has had tremendous support from friends and family most of my life. Right now, I'm trying to save for a decent down payment on a house, but I have a plan. My mom had breast cancer, and she's okay for now, but I want to make sure she has a place to stay if things don't go so well.

4. Exactly.
I hope everyone else out there not only realizes how lucky they are to be working and bringing in an income, but I hope they appreciate their jobs no matter what you do for a living. As far as I'm concerned a job is a job and it helps you to take care of yourselves.

I was talking to a guy last week about our economic crisis who is unemployed. He was complaining that it was all our government's fault for not giving "us" more money. He said he has to live with his parents, who are supporting him, because he lost his job almost a year ago and turned down job offers because they weren't good enough for him. I take it they still aren't good enough for him. I tried to explain our government is not responsible to take care of him and that there a lot of folks out there who would be happy to have nay kind of work, but I think it went over his head. Then again, he has a built in safety net -- his parents, as long as they can continue to support him. So this guy would rather live off his parents then take a job because the jobs he's found won't pay him want he wants.

For his sake he better hope his parents don't run out of money or if they die and leave him anything that he knows how to make that money stretch.
