Words of wisdom from a male C-Span caller.
"There's only one thing to do when you're on top. You gotta go down, its all you can do."

Who can say the man is wrong?

1. similar to the lyrics of an Adam Ant song in the 80's
"When you get to Number One, the only way is down."

2. "Be nice to folks on the way up, because
you're surely going to meet them again on your way down"

3. More like cynicism than wisdom because you can only lead from the front.

5. Maybe I Can Help
I heard it just a bit ago. It was a Repub only segment about governors accepting the stimulus funds.

He went on a mini-rant about how we got into this mess because we overspent and lived above our means as people, and as governments at every level. (No data, of course.)

He said we were so interested in being number one that we spent ourselves into a position where there was only one way to go, and that was down.

6. Thanks much, ProfessorGAC...
The caller provided a somewhat tortured analogy because it implies one gets to the top by going deeper in debt.

Then again wingnuts aren't known for their critical thinking skills. LOL

7. I'd probably go down first, then get on top...
...but whatever order works for you. :)
