or sexual assault of women?

Not just Rihanna, but the man who decapitated his wife, and a few personal stories I've read here on DU. There's also the young boy who shot his dad's fiancee out of jealousy for her soon-to-be-born baby.

Is this related to the economy?

2. and, anywhere near military bases. have had some horrendous cases here as soldiers return
with PTSD, and the damned military isn't really helping, no matter WHAT kind of bs propoganda they put out.

3. Between that and the economy makeing civilians go bonkers more...
When bad boys (and wingers)in civies are feeling put upon, and powerless it seems like more women end up in the ER.

I was wondering what the recent drop in beer sales might do to the domestic violence numbers here soon.

And, yes, PC Police, I DO know women can also be abusers. But we still don't see 'equality' there so don't go all hostile on me for suggesting it is more the gents' getting out of hand.

5. I failed to mention that finances are maybe the #1 cause/excuse
for divorce.

The military has been trying to help, but obviously not sufficiently. I expect it will take a LONG time, and it won't ever be anything close to 'good.' They DO care, but think of the difficulty.

The link is from the UK, but GOOGLE domestic violence and economic downturn, crisis ... you get a large number of links reporting the same thing.
