Yeah, thanks for the advice.

Maybe if you hadn't worked hand in glove with the Republican crazies in destroying New Deal regulations that prevented this very kind of chicanery we'd all be in a better place right now.

1. Yes.
And, of course, he's in denial too.

2. Change includes being honest. Tweeking people's perceptions
is one of those things we are trying to change.

That doesn't mean we need to be brutaly pessimistic, either.

That well balanced hopefulness, despite the downturn, is the Dr. Feelgood people want a dose of.

4. hush up, (former) Mr. President
he's not helping... I've been complaining about President Obama for every thing that bothers me with his choices, but my goodness, what is the man supposed to do, LIE? He is as cognizant and rational about the crisis as one can probably be, and certainly has stated in everything that I've seen, that we are going to come out of this, but it's going to be a tough road ahead.

5. Did he not get the memo that Obama's campaign message was all about hope?
D'oh! I think we all voted for O because he promised not to sugarcoat things. Bill must want us to not worry our pretty little heads and "go shopping".

6. I'm afraid..
I'm afraid if Obama looks all jolly about our chances then when tons more people loose their jobs & homes and the economy has tanked even worse that the tv news will replay the clips of him waving and smiling. It will look like the way Bush grinned while Katrina happened.. or like the "mission accomplished" moment.

Back in Clinton's day was the time to start the green tech revolution, we wouldn't be so far behind now.

8. Misleading headline
It's a lame bit of advice (Obama routinely does what Clinton suggests he do), almost thrown in there as an afterthought, and it distracts from what is a very good interview. Clinton gives Obama an "A" overall, acknowledges he fucked up on not regulating derivatives, and smacks the Republicans around pretty good.

I suggest a full reading.
