..... to spite the American Family Association, which is launching yet another boycott to punish a company for its support of the infamous "gay agenda."

from the AFA:

Frequently (yeah, right) Asked Questions regarding the PepsiCo boycott

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What is the boycott about?
PepsiCo, as a company, is financially supporting homosexual groups whose activities include promoting homosexuality in the marketplace, in the public square, and in lobbying for same-sex marriage. Examples are gay pride parades, aggressively pushing elected public officials to approve gay marriage, and conferences designed to expand social acceptance of the lifestyle.

Is there a difference between PepsiCo and the PepsiCo Foundation?
The PepsiCo Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the PepsiCo Company. While many cash donations to gay groups comes through its foundation, other donations come directly from the general budget. The foundation is operated under the direct authority of PepsiCo.

Doesn't PepsiCo own KFC, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell? Why aren't they included in the boycott?
No. These three restaurant chains were sold by PepsiCo in 2002.

Are the Pepsi-Cola distributors a part of PepsiCo?
Yes and No. Forty percent of Pepsi's 95 distribution plants are corporate owned. The other 60% are made up of individual franchises. Franchises, as distributors, are the company's public representatives in areas they do business in.

What about Coke? Don't they do some of the same things?
AFA's boycott efforts are currently being focused on PepsiCo, asking them to remain neutral in the culture war.

So I'm already all over that. XD I love Coke as my choice of cola but I'm absolutely ADDICTED to Amp and Mountain Dew. Especially Amp.

Me thinks it's time to go stock up on it tomorrow. :D I just can't get enough of the stuff because it tastes like candy and I'll sit there and drink two cans straight. I'm pretty sure that's probably an extremely unhealthy amount of caffeine. lol

problem lately has been finding it in something smaller than 2 litre bottles.

Cane cola is good, but I've had a hard time finding that lately.

Don't drink a whole lot of Coke *or* Pepsi products, but I do like Lipton (which I think Pepsi used to (still?) distribute(s)) and the occasional Mountain Dew- though I've tried to cut back on those.

Interestingly, I wasn't aware that Pepsi no longer owned Taco Bell, KFC, and Pizza Hut, and apparently they sold these restaurants seven years ago!

27. I'm a Coke fan too
I cut down too. My dentist mentioned that my back teeth were a little discolored and cutting down on Coke would help. Now, I drink it only at lunch and dinner. When I go out to dinner, I don't get it...helps cut down on Coke and saves money by getting water. It hasn't been a big deal for me. I found myself drinking Coke even if I didn't necessarily want it. I would just grab it out of habit.

54. I've never liked coffee, and tea's ok, but not something I crave.
So I usually have my coke in the am on the way to work for the caffeine.

I'm a total snob about it, though, and want stuff from the fountain. A bottle just doesn't do it. And 7-11 or Wawa have the best fountains, but 7-11's aren't many here, and Wawa's almost non-existent. The Sunoco place's soda always tastes like Cepacol!

23. So why do people like Mountain Dew so much?
TRIPLE YUCK!! It's sickeningly sweet. It's actually banned from my house because my daughter gets mega hyper when she dranks it (actually any soda does that but Mt. Dew is nectar of the devil himself!) And of course since it's forbidden at home it's all she wants when she's not at home. She especially comes back from her Dad's hopped up on the Dew. I think he's doing it on purpose.

59. Had a conversation with one of those types last week.....
in a mall food court. An older couple at a nearby table seemed very upset (lots of fascial expressions) while watching a young lesbian couple holding hands at another table. The gentleman made a couple of comments rather loudly to his wife about the young couple. Turns out he is a retired pastor of an evengelical chuch. I couldn't resist - I told him if God created all mankind in "his" image, than the homosexuals are also created in God's image. After getting an earful of self-rightousness, I asked him why he thinks homosexuals are evil but incest is not. I told him to go home and read the story of Lot in his Bible. According to the Bible, he should also beat his wife for disobedience and stone his fellow church members that commit adultry. But hey, he no longer wanted to talk to me.

I have several friends that are gay. They are what they are by birth, not choice. They are all, in my opinion, God's children too.
Pepsi it is.....
