"Check-in thread for DUers supporting prosecution of Bush/Cheney criminals" will always get lots of Recs and end up on the front page no matter how often it is posted.

No, I'm not a DLC schill (the DU equivalent of the McCarthy era of calling someone a Communist) and I don't ignore the things you list, but I am ignoring you.

27. These criminals "broke" our institutions at every level and branch of "government" after they were
installed in office. Today everything is in flux-there is no escaping the political aspects and the blow back. There are no quick and easy remedies.

Never give up on this and link-up with as many groups as you can from the grass roots to DC committee members to the WH.

That's what many of US are doing regardless of all else in these unprecedented times. NGU, ADW, NGU. Join up with as many groups as you can is my advice, fwiw.

53. As of February 14
71% of Americans are in favor of an investigation into the possible misuse of the Department of Justice by the Bush administration according to a Gallup poll released yesterday. The Bush administration has been accused of using the Department of Justice for political maneuvering including the firing of U.S. attorneys and the investigation and conviction of Alabama Governor Don Siegelman, a Democrat.
Of the 71% who believe Bush should be investigated, 41% want a criminal investigation while 30% are in favor of investigation by an independent panel. 71% is a very high percentage of the American population.

Obama should support us in wanting accountability. Just as law enforcement holds ciitizens accountable so should the nation hold it's leaders in power accountable. Otherwise our democracy is broken and sets a bad example for others.

61. War Criminals, Including Their Lawyers, Must Be Prosecuted (Marjorie Cohn)
"Attorney General Eric Holder should appoint a Special Prosecutor to investigate and prosecute high Bush officials including lawyers like John Yoo who gave them “legal” cover. Obama is correct when he said that no one is above the law. Accountability is critical to ensuring that our leaders never again torture and abuse people."

I think we have a better chance of seeing it today than we did yesterday and will have a better chance tomorrow. We must not let up for one second. My fellow Veterans deserve no less. Our wars were in different times and different places but they remain the same in the fact they were unnecessary, unjust and wrong. We vets are alwasy right, hey we tried, but our leadership is dead wrong in all this.
