GOP governors debate how to revive party
By Walter Alarkon

Republican governors mentioned as White House hopefuls are split over whether the party's next leader will be centrist or conservative.

The GOP comeback can start with major victories in the 38 gubernatorial elections over the next two years, said Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour (R) at the National Governors Association meeting in Washington this weekend.

Few analysts, however, sense that a Republican comeback is imminent.

"I don't see any signs of a revival, so {you} can't say who will lead," said Charlie Cook
, editor and publisher of the Cook Political Report.

Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine, who also serves as Democratic National Committee chairman, said that his party regained power only after they broadened their appeal. His friendly advice to the GOP was to take a similar path.

“Instead of the obstruction and being known for what you say no to, become known for what problems you solve,” he said.

8. Don't get complacent.
Right now the GOP looks insane.

There is a reason for that, memories are still fresh.

There approach is a 4 or more likely geared 8 years in the future. They are saying insane obvious lies now, so that they can repeat them for years. It is true almost everyone sees how crazy it is, but they are trying to use known effects of propaganda, say it enough some will believe it.

They hope to repeat lies until people forget about Bush, and remember there lies so Democrats can be blamed for the mess created since 1980.

Sure it sounds crazy now, but if people do not retain there memories, years down the road, it would be no different then other activities they did.

7. If anyone here or any Democrats get smug or complacent in believing the GOP is dead
you may be in for a surprise and get bit in the ass one day. Now and always is the time to be vigilant and not let our guards down.

10. Tax cuts for the wealthy?
Wars of aggression? Bigger federal budgets, with tax cuts for the wealthy and illegal wars?

No?

I'm stuck; what else is there?

11. Why, just continuing doing what you are doing.

Denying unemployment to those poor folks in your states without food on their tables. Continue pretending there is nothing wrong with our country that a few new taxcuts could not help. And continue to badmouth the very popular new President. Just continue being assholes...
