How do the politicians help white collar crime?

Now you have this drug laundering angle where he was caught in the 90's with laundered Mexican money from the cartels down there, and then you have him giving money to mostly republican politicians. Oh, and how convenient that the 18 billion this scumbag stole can't be accounted for..

And yet, the MSM doesn't seem to be covering this much, if at all (except the New York Times, who have been covering it fairly well). Too much to handle? Too many far reaching implications?

2. It strikes me as a very huge story.
And I've seen little to nothing on it on any of the new networks.

5. Cause It Really Doesn't Affect Many Of Us Riff Raff
To play the Stanford or Madoff game, you had to come to the table with at least 50Gs and a lot more where that came from. Stanford, in specific, catered to the very rich who thought they were too smart by half. They sheltered it with him off shore to avoid the taxes and now its gone and a good chance they'll never see a dime. Tsk Tsk.

We're just starting to learn of all the schemers and scammers...and I'm sure there's more to come. Now if you're poor and steal a candy bar at the 7-11, you could end up spending years in jail, yet pilfer billions and you get "house arrest". What a joke.

TPMMuckraker has done an excellent job covering both Madoff and Stanford as well as others. Now why am I not surprised that a guy who ran an offshore bank in the Carribbean...right in cocaine alley...somehow become involved in laundrering drug money. Conicindence? Methinks not. Also it reminds me of the old stories about the boooosh boys and their cocaine importing business in the 80's and early 90's.

6. It fits the history of CIA banks.
Drug money laundering, ripping people off. Yes, the corporate media will bury the dirtiest facts of the story. Have you read The Crimes of Patriots by Jonathan Kwitney? It's the story of a CIA bank called Nugan Hand Bank that did all of the above in the Vietnam era. Kwitney was a Wall Street Journal reporter, but the Oscars were more important then, too.

Here's something I found:
