1. Is he scheduled to appear before the house judiciary committee?
I checked their legislative calendar. It says "No hearings are scheduled today".

17. Might be, not sure - what I do know is that they normally aren't reported on

20. So we may never know whether or not Rove showed up?
I can make a guess. If the past is prologue Rove won't show up. The penalty for not showing up the last two times was nada. Not much risk in skipping out again.

Still, I'd like confirmation.

7. That's what the subpoena said
http://judiciary.house.gov/hearings/pdf/RoveSubpoena090126.pdf

Although there had been some talk of a delay a couple of weeks ago, I have seen nothing solid on that since.

6. Its a 3 minute walk from the FOX studio in DC to the Capital building
Flip on C-Span and look out the window in back of the moderator on the morning show. See how close the Capital is? FOX and C-Span are located in the same building.

3. I know. We've been looking for 'anything' about this and came up with
zilch...which isn't surprising. Nothing on C-Span.

9. There was a court brief filed last Monday (by the Obama administration??) for a delay
Michael Hertz, the acting assistant attorney general, said in a court brief released Monday that negotiations were ongoing.

19. What "negotiations," I wonder?
What is there to negotiate beyond "I swear" or "I affirm" to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth? Is Karl trying to negotiate about what the truth is? Sounds like another famous personage, who pondered "What is truth?"

Don't worry, assembled masses of DU, the Freeperati won't know that I am of course talking about Pontius Pilate. But do keep in mind that Pilate was a governor, and Jesus was a community organizer. Hee, hee, hee.

10. My CSPAN2 is showing Gore and T.Boone Pickens at an Energy
Efficiency & the Economy Forum, to begin any minute. Tim Worth, UN Foundation president, is hosting. Maybe they'll switch.

Washington Journal on CSPAN 1 is interviewing Gov Sanford, SC, at the governors forum.

14. Conyers issued the subpoena...
Therefore, it probably won't be enforced.

15. Conyers isn't even in Washington DC at the moment...
just found out from the person answering the phone in his office. On his way from his district right now. I guess that answers the question.

18. It's (just) a deposition, people.
It's not open testimony before the full committee.

While it is sworn testimony, it will be just Rove, his attorney(s), the committee's attorneys, and a court reporter.

Nothing to get all foamy about. Not yet anyway.

21. Are you sure?
Seems to me it will be the just committee's attorneys and a court reporter.

22. Usually, according to DH, and at least 'round here, the deponent's attorney
is in the room with him, but his role is extremely limited. No coaching answers, no talking much at all, except to raise objections to certain questions (which the deponent still has to answer, but the objection was made on the record). It's not like grand jury testimony, where the witness goes in all alone.

Maybe congressional committee depositions are different. I really don't know.
