GOP Vulture Forecasts Justice Ginsberg's Death Anticipating an Opening for Conservatives
February 23, 2009

Washington, D.C. (AHN) - U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg returns to work on Monday, more than two weeks after undergoing surgery for pancreatic cancer. News of her health had prompted reports of a possible vacancy in the Court, but Sen. Jim Bunning (R-KY) went further on Sunday and said she had only nine months to live.

The 75-year-old Ginsberg underwent surgery on Feb. 5 following the discovery of a lesion during a routine check-up in January at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. The lesion was later found to be a tumor about 1 centimeter across, in the center of her pancreas. No metastasis was found and the lesion proved benign.

In a speech during the Hardin County Republican Party's Lincoln Day Dinner, Bunning indicated a conservative may be added to the Court because of Ginsburg's health.

"Ruth Bader Ginsburg ... has cancer... Bad cancer. The kind that you don't get better from," the senator is quoted by the Courier-Journal as saying. "Even though she was operated on, usually, nine months is the longest that anybody would live after (being diagnosed) with pancreatic cancer."

6. That's the question I had.
Is this guy to stupid to realize that Bush is no longer in office? Why in the world would Obama put a conservative on the supreme court?

7. I think he thinks the Repubs will be able to gridlock a Dem nominee and
get one of their own. The major story here though is how desperate these people have become. This is scortched earth. All decency is gone.

8. They are untethered from reality.
Amazing, the amount of delusion running through their shriveled little raisin brains.

2. Aside from the utter tastelessness of the comment,
I don't know why, with a Democratic POTUS, they would think the death of a justice would be an opening for the "Notorious G.O.P."

4. Why would a Democratic President and Congress put a conservative on the Supreme Court? (nt)

5. Are we sure this stupid bastard didn't get hit in the head with a line drive?
What, Obama is going to appoint Harriet Myers?
Or another Altio or Roberts?

Bunning is yet another right wing idiot and tool.

9. I hope Obama sees this quote and realizes
this is how repugs think and he'll never change that. How can Dems be 'inclusive' with animals who think like this?
