Just think in less than two years there is a real good possibility that we'll have super majorities |
|
in both houses. The mcChinless caught in the headlights and crybaby boner leadership is driving the re:puke:s into the ground. If I was a republiCON I would be pissed at my leadership.

1. I understand from some real pol junkies that the GOPs tend to |
|
get very crazy after they lose a big election. They seem to think that they didn't get their "message" to enolugh people, because if more people really knew what the GOPs were all about, they would have won (They cannot understand people not liking them!!!!) SO when they lose, they come back ultra conservative, very loud and proud of their assholishness. Sometimes this actually seems to work, but in 2012 I am beginning to think they are going to run Palin for president (!) with maybe one of the Southern Governors as VP. They seem to think the reason they lost so big was that McCain was to liberal. I also expect the GOP reps and Senators to continue the Just Say No policy and to do everything they can think of to undermine President Obama's administration even when it is trying to save our economy.
I really expect the GOPs to lose by a much larger margin than they did in both houses of congress in 2010 and in the general election in 2012.
I think they still won't get it, even then, but after that election they will be split into several small parties and will not be able to gain a majority position at all.
Just my opinion, but they are so crazy right now, it's all very possible.

2. I'm seeing it pretty much the same way Mark. |
|
Friends over yesterday that I'm sure voted for mcPalin and they were both talking about how they are liking President Obama. How they feel he is actually trying to do what is right. These two friends were unreachable up to only a few weeks ago, I might add. This is some big strides for these two to be taking too.

3. Yes, IF the economy turns around.... |
|
If, OTOH, we are in for what some here gleefully describe as a "L-shaped recession," and summer 2010 finds us no better than we are now (or even worse), look for another 1994-style "Republican Revolution" that will return Congress to G.O.P. control. :-(

4. Yes, that's what I worry about |

And it's what the Republicans are hoping for.

everything Obama does to help the people of the nation get through this bad time. And more people will see that, and the GOPs will pay for it.
I think unemployment will go to near 10% and the DOW to around 4,000 or lower before it statrs to come back.
I think people will finally start to take this seriously, and more will realize how fortunate we are to have Obama as President.
Can you imagine McCain/Palin in office right now?

7. Just saw a segment on MSNBC News - The congressional GOPs |
|
official plan is to oppose all Democratic efforts to help the economy, oppose all changes to health care and environmental/energy/green problems and to attack the Democrats for spending and increasing taxes.
Yes, they are going back to the same old thing, regardless of reality.
They are just incredible.

8. In the long run, that would be good for the country |
|
Assuming it destroys the GOP, or at least the control the crazies have over the GOP.
But of course we all have to worry about what their tactics will do to the country in the short run.

5. If things don't start turning around long before then we're going to be |
|
fucked no matter what happens. I don't see an if in all this and sure don't see an emphasized if, if you get my drift. We have a smart man in charge and he likes to be in the company of other likewise smart people. We'll be alrite, quite worrying about the if and start worrying about the how you can help. Our country is worth the effort I promise.
