Every Friday, the FDIC closes 3 or 4 more banks....Now the Fed is upping its stake in the megabanks.
Is it a stealth, slow-motion nationalization to avoid mass panic? :shrug:


It seems rather obvious now that the banks are basically insolvent.

2. Its interesting to think that perhaps the original bailout plan was meant to delay and allow this...

That the process is all smoke and mirrors to allow lemon socialism to take place without making investors run for the hills. Its particularly interesting, because if this same process is spanning two supposedly ideologically opposing administrations, it suggests some amount of overall cohesion.
