Anyone remember him? He was a Democrat who was more conservative and anti-communist than most Republicans. His district was later represented by Bob Barr.

Kinda frightening to think that people like him could be elected to Congress.

about that KAL downing, as I recall. He was a monster.

2. Were there others like him in Congress at the time?

Weren't Phil Gramm and Richard Shelby conservative Southern Democrats before they switched parties?

I do know, though, that he was the most vocal, and when that plane went down, I breathed a sigh of relief. Not nice, maybe, but I'm not a nice person.

You'd have to look up Gramm and Shelby's biographies to find out more about them. I haven't the stomach for that job.

Says a lot about his constituents.
