One way to create a lot of jobs: Deputize unemployed Americans to go after tax cheats...
How many thousands of wealthy Americans have secret offshore bank accounts? I've heard something like 19,000 to 50,000 in the Swiss bank UBS alone. That doesn't include the whistle-blower who told of accounts in Lichtenstein, as well as other places.

So, once the IRS has the names, deputize unemployed Americans to go after them. Show up at their mansions and penthouses with warrants for their arrests. Seize them and their assets! Let justice prevail! A lot of these crooks made a killing off Reaganism and Bush's tax cuts for the wealthy but instead of "reinvesting" in America (like we were told they'd do), they took their ill-gotten swag and hid it in secret, offshore bank accounts.

It's time for a day of reckoning...!!!

6. No, just the ones who hid their wealth in secret, offshore accounts...
...in order to avoid paying taxes.

13. The IRS tends to go after the "little people" who won't /'can't
fight back via lawyers and big time tax attorneys. So, I again say, these jobs will probably have the previously unemployed going after the newly unemployed and bankrupted middle and lower middle class.

14. I was thinking of just the tax-cheats who had secret offshore accounts...
I know the IRS tends to go after the "little guy," but if a separate program was set up to go after the "big guy," then we could employ a lot of "little guys" to do the job...

2. That's a really bad idea.
This isn't the wild west (yet). I don't want some yahoos running around, thinking they can use their weapons to get justice. And I can just imagine who'd volunteer for these jobs.

10. Hey! I'm not saying they wouldn't get their hair mussed!
Some of the wealthy tax-cheats might get punched in the face a few times if they resisted arrest...

Some of the wealthy tax-cheats might get knocked off their bikes while fleeing arrest...

Some of the wealthy tax-cheats might get tazed if they put up any kind of resistence...

But I'm sure these same wealthy tax-cheats would understand this is the way we maintain an orderly society!

3. I wonder how many small business owners are expensing personal property and perquisites ...
... without declaring them as income. A "company car" used as a family car. Personal computers purchased by the business and used at home by the family. LCD televisions. CostCo goods. Season tickets. "Business travel" to a ski resort for the whole family.

Lots.

4. I knew a family like this!
He had a small motorcycle sales & service business. He once bought a brand-new pickup truck. I remember him saying it was a "tax write-off" for his business although it was his main car at home.

Yeah, I imagine there are a lot of folks who do this...

9. I see it happening in the circle of business owners that I know
In yesterdays political climate I would say probably well over a half of them were.

7. I seem to remember from years past when it was that the irs paid a reward
for turning in tax cheats, haven't heard of that in a while now though.

11. Good idea!
We could revive that concept. Send out the newly-deputized American tax-cheat apprehenders in teams of four (make sure they have warrants!). I believe elite British commandos work in teams of four and they seem to do a good job at what they do. And offer the four 10% of what they seize! This would certainly sweeten the pot, and would assure that every American tax-cheat faces justice!

12. I suggest we go in alphabetical order...
That would mean the IRS would send them first to the Bush Family compound and then to the Dick Cheney compound. There might be so much wealth seized there that the US Treasury would be crammed full of money and the whole program could be terminated...

Besides, maybe the neo-con assassinations of JFK and RFK would exempt them as a kind of restitution?
