So ... all morning I'm hearing some happy talk about the next quarter and beyond ......
.... a lot of the yakkers today, and speechifiers like Bernanke, yesterday, are saying that the fourth quarter of last year will be revised downward, the current quarter will be worse, then things will start to trend upward, but slowly at first, and that employment will lag a quarter or two behind the initially slow growth. By 2010, they're saying, we'll be out of the recession.

So why am I skeptical?

Because last week NO ONE was saying this and today EVERYONE seems to be.

That just smells too much like some command and control operation re-queued the record on the turntable.

1. This is all bullshit.
Nobody knows what is going to happen -- they are grasping at straws and trying to spin something into substantial news.

2. You know it is
for the most part the voices we hear on our teevees are not voices of our friends. They are part of the problem imo

5. These are the same idiots who touted supply side economics.
They claimed to be able to create demand merely by offering a product. Soooo, there are tons of unsold cars, homes, services, just sitting there waiting for this created demand. Get a move on supply-siders, start creating that demand. We need it yesterday.

6.  The talking heads are just chumming the water. That's their job. Gawd forbid, they would actually
investigate and then fairly and accurately report.

8. They're full of crap.....
No clue when things will turn around for sure. I see more hurt through the rest of 09 due to more mortgage failures on ARM resets.

11. I've got the tv on right now thinking for some reason that our fine President is going to have
something to say and I notice ole pat pucannon looks like he may have taken a shower and put on a recently cleaned suit jacket. That voice of his drives me up a wall, I'm ah thinking that someone cut him back when he was a kid or his nutts just never dropped.
