CNN's calling it the State of the Nation?

I guess this isn't part of the constitutionally required address to Congress we usually call the State of the Union, so we're calling the address to a joint session of congress something slightly different?

Can someone elucidate?

I'm pissed because I won't be able to watch it.

1. AFAIK, it's an address to a joint session of congress about the economy...

2. Didn't bush call it...

"State of the - my State of the Union - or state - my speech to the nation, whatever you want to call it, speech to the nation"

3. IF anything that came out of * mouth even resembled

a speech.

4. From what I've been hearing on the radio today,

it's the State of the Union speech but because this is Pres Obama's first year in the office it isn't referred to by that name.

I have to admit that this is the first time I've ever heard of this.
