Check your mobile phone bill closely...

We have four lines. Today, going through the bill I found a $9.99 charge for "downloads," on one line. I knew that didn't happen. I called the mobile carrier, and they adjusted the bill. Turns out it was a subscription service that we didn't order that was spammed on the bill. The bill said SJA Mobile, and Mblox. I found out it had been charged 3 times...was credited for all three times without a problem. But, had I not been going over the bill with a fine toothed comb, I probably would have kept paying for this for a long time.

Check your bill for these kinds of charges.

4. i use tracfone

dumped the subscription service mobil phones a few years ago. am very happy with tracfone. it's a good alternative if you don't have to walk around with the phone glued to your ear 24/7

6. Be careful of those bullshit cell phone services that advertise on late night basic cable.

You can get slapped with charges left and right if you use those things.

after signing on to a newspapers site during the pukes convention last summer.
Took forever to get it stopped and my money back.

12. I would add that we should check ALL phone bills; even landlines are ridiculous these days

I don't even use a cell and these rat bastards are charging all these bogus fees. The taxes are bad enough, and I ended up cancelling my long distance service with my local provider because of the minimum usage fee. I don't even call long distance very often and besides, they charge this fee in addition to what I would use with actual calls! It used to be a flat fee that deducted what you used in calls. My new long distance company turned out to be a joke. Not only did I have to dial a special number, but when I got my bill, they charged me two minimum usage fees for one month of service, even though they said there would be no charge when I signed up!
