Hershey moving Peppermint Pattie plant from Pa to Mexico.
I find this very, very sad.....

Hershey closing Peppermint Patties plant in Pa.

A flag is flying at half-staff outside The Hershey Co. plant in Reading where production of York Peppermint Patties is ending.

After 23 years in Reading, the chocolate maker is closing the plant Friday and moving production to a new factory it has built in Monterey, Mexico. It will mean the loss of 300 jobs in the southeastern Pennsylvania city.

The plant also makes 5th Avenue and Zagnut candy bars and Jolly Rancher hard candies.

The nation's largest candy manufacturer said two years ago the plant would close as part of a wider move by Hershey to eliminate 1,500 jobs and one-third of its existing production lines, shifting more manufacturing to contractors in the U.S.

Some workers will stay on for a few weeks to close the plant.

3. Fuck Hershey. Just fuck 'em. I haven't bought anything Hershey since they started moving stuff to
Mexico a couple years ago. This is absolute garbage and I'm sick of it.

5. Hershey is on my personal boycott list...
I never thought I'd see the day.

I think it's time to go on a full-blown, made in USA only jag for quite a while... I'm tired of the world trying to poison me, and defenseless babies and animals!

11. I gave up Reese's Peanut butter Cups
when they shut down the plant in Oakdale, CA and moved operations to Mexico. Now there are some more sweets I'll never buy again.

17. Switch to Paul Newman's brand...
Organic, from fair-traded producers. No forced labor. And a portion of the proceeds go to progressive causes.

A little more expensive, but well worth it! :hi:

must be turning in his grave, (along with Sam Walton.) Milton Hershey built a whole town complete with recreational facilities for his workers.
