I watched this movie, and I realized I didn't want to wear suits everyday and being a corporate shill.

8. I adore that movie
I've lost count the number of times we've watched it and I still crack up.
Two of my nephews watched it with me way back. They were kids but now that they've grown up they still watch it and call an tell me how much more they understand it now.

10. Didn't do much for me
Not a bad movie but certainly not a lifechanger.
I guess that is because I had already seen thru the corporate bullshit by the time it came out.

Pink Floyds The Wall probable had a bigger impact. 'All we are is just another brick in the wall'

"Life is an interesting journey. You never know where it'll take you, peaks and valleys, twists and turns. You can get the surprise of your life. Sometimes on the way to where you goin' you might think, this is the worst time of my life. But you know what? At the end of the road, through all the adversity, if you can get where you wanted to be, you remember whatever don't kill you makes you stronger, and all of the adversity was worth it. On your way to the top, you'll do anything, but how do you get your life back when you get there? Yeah...that's my dilemma."

25. It certainly had an affect on the language that I use
For instance, it no longer suffices to call management a 'bunch of assholes.' The phrase 'fudgepackers' is much more apropos.

32. I finally saw this movie a month or so ago.
And it was just ok. Not hilarious, not a classic, just ok. Maybe you have to be an office worker for it to be really funny. After all the hype I heard I was expecting a gutbuster.

35. Same here
I was appointed "Y2K Preparedness Coordinator" at an educational software company.

I spent weeks testing our products and systems with the computer clocks set forward into years 2000 and 2001. I compiled my results into a 200+ page printed report that went to the Board of Directors and a bunch of other people.

38. Lol, so you actually HAVE written TPS reports?
I write software for a living, but never could get into QA. That's some mind-numbing, soul-crushing work right there. Makes the life of a DBA look action packed in comparison.

41. No TPS reports, but at one time I did have eight bosses
My title was Senior Systems Integration Engineer. For Y2K I had to test system functions to make sure software didn't just roll over and die, but I had to do that multiple platforms including streaming media server configurations and file servers on different OSs, in addition to dozens of kinds of clients.

Yeah, it was pretty mind-numbing and I never found a single issue that needed to be fixed. :D

The change in Daylight Savings Time a few years ago had much more real impact on businesses.
