He objects to funding for monitoring volcanoes. Bet that goes over bigtime with folks in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest and Hawaii. And Yellowstone. After all, it's not like volcanic activity is as potentially hazardous as hurricanes, right? Or that eruptions can kill or impact air quality or influence weather around the globe, right? Really, Bobby - right?
The GOP response was indeed a pithy demonstration of self-serving myopia. Big surprise. Not.

Maybe I can hook 'im up with a nice little cottage at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park when Pele is acting up..... Or a nice yurt near Mt. St. Helens...
Maybe Bobby's selective short memory forgot the kind people of the West opened their hearts and pocketbooks to help the dear people in Louisiana.
