How to deal with Jindal..... |
|
...cue scary music:
Narrator: Bobby Jindal, son of Indian immigrants, has his eye on the Whitehouse. Do we really want to outsource another American job? Bobby Jindal, the ultimate outsource.
Hey, if the Republicants can play on fears so can we. (Only ours are real and not fake).

3. Just let the GOP's default kneejerk racism take care of him |
|
As soon as they realize that he isn't from Texas and doesn't have a WASP pedigree spanning seven generations, they'll balk.

Jindal gave a crappy speech but he's more qualified to be president than Arnold Schwartzenegger on half a dozen different levels. And no one has accused the big S of being an "outsource" candidate.
The good news is that we won't have to "deal" with Jindal since even Fox couldn't find anything good to say about him after tonight. He's shot his political career in the foot but good.

6. Why, because his parents are from India? Does that mean he has a loyalty issue? |
|
Edited on Wed Feb-25-09 12:50 AM by fujiyama
Seriously, quit with the xenophobic garbage. Jindal did himself in with his Goddawful speech. There's no need to resort to such racism. Jindal is douchebag extraordinaire, but I for one have had enough of attacking people based on where their parents are from, their religion, ethnicity, race, etc.

I fixed my comment. I'm really sick of the latent racism and xenophobia among some DUers. I understand people are sick of losing jobs. I'm out of work too. But people can't justify that with bigotry.

10. When we laugh at him it's not because he is a minority... |
|
but because he is a minority supporting the GOP. I wouldn't laugh at a baby seal about to be clubbed to death but if it happened during the baby seal giving a speech about the benefits of clubs built from oak-that might cause me to giggle.

19. When we laugh at him by calling him an "outsource" candidate |
|
but don't do the same thing to white foreign born republicans (in fact, don't even have the language to do the same to white foreign born candidates) then it's not as harmless as you seem to think it is.
You can make fun of the baby seal for being an idiot, not for being a baby seal and not by using common slurs about baby seals.

He's short on ideas--typical republican. WAY too far to the right for the average American--typical Bush republican. Completely unengaging as a speaker--Bush redux. Lies with a straight face (maglev train to Disneyland, anyone?)--more of the same republican crap.
Plus, he actually used the US government's reaction to Katrina as a model for what we should expect from the feds.
Let him bury himself on his own merits.

12. I prefer to attack Gov. Jindal on the issues. |
|
Academically he is far more qualified than many governors and even US senators.
Politically his speech tonight was very immature and lacked substance and depth. I was disappointed he could not offer more this evening.
I am sure Gov. Jindal will get the critique from this speech and may end up regrouping in the next four years.

Maybe you could try attacking him in a manner consistent with liberal and Democratic values. Just a thought....

I'm sorry. I know you probably mean well. Just sick of Republican shit. I understand. But "tit for tat" is a child's game and we, I hope, are so far above that.
The best way to deal with Jindal is to fully and completely support his national aspirations. Let him and Palin be the face of the GOP. After 4 years of a smart charismatic open honest leader like President Obama, the stark difference between the GOP and Democratic party will be a huge smack in the face to the entire country (except the 14% that supported Whistleass Inc to the very end)
