Study: Even one drink a day poses risks for women

WASHINGTON — For years, many women have been buoyed by the news about one of their guilty little pleasures: That nightly glass of wine may not only take the edge off their day but also help them live longer. But now it turns out that sipping a glass of pinot noir may not be such a good idea, after all.

A new study involving nearly 1.3 million middle-age British women — the largest ever to examine alcohol and cancer in women — found that just one glass of chardonnay, a single beer or any other kind of alcoholic drink per day significantly increases the risk of a variety of cancers.

18. I think all these studies are useless. I firmly believe that cancer rates are

far more related linked to stress/happiness/satisfaction than whether or not you drink a little, eat fat or sugar, or smoke tobacco, provided that consumption is moderate and the substances relatively pure.

Excessive worry about whether or not that glass of wine will kill you is more likely to kill you than the wine.
